Laurance Fader received his BS and MS from the Juilliard School. In 1961, he joined the American Symphony Orchestra as Principal Viola under legendary conductor Leopold Stockowski. Since 1962, he has been a member of the New York City Opera Orchestra. He joined the New York City Ballet viola section in 1966. He was a founder of the North Country Chamber Players, which has been based in New Hampshire for the last 25 years. He was Adjunct Professor of Viola at Columbia University’s Teachers College from 1990-2007. Mr. Fader lives in New York with his wife and is very proud to have had 4 children and 5 grandchildren.
