Andrew Schaw is currently a member of the NYC Ballet Orchestra’s Violin Section. Before joining the NYC Ballet he was a member of the Chicago Lyric Opera. As an active performer in the New York musical community he has performed with most of the major ensembles in the city and has toured both in Europe and in Asia. He is a graduate of the Juilliard School Pre College Division and holds a Bachelors and Masters of Music degree from the Juilliard School where he was a student of Dorothy Delay. Some of his other teachers include Felix Galimer, Nina Beilina, Shmuel Ashkenasi and Roman Totenberg.    He has participated in various festivals including Tanglewood, and the Aspen Music Festival. As a chamber musician he has performed and recorded extensively in the NY area. He has taught at the summer Chateau de Champs Materclasses in Paris and at the Luzern Music Festival.
