Adam Phan, Harp
Adam Phan is the newly appointed Principal Harpist of the New York City Ballet Orchestra. Adam is a graduate of the Juilliard School where he received his Artist Diploma, Master’s, and Bachelor’s degrees studying with Nancy Allen.
During his time at Juilliard he was awarded a silver medal at the Hong Kong International Harp Competition, a winner of the Anne Adams Awards, was awarded the Carlos Salzedo Prize at the American Harp Society National Competition, recipient of the Kovner Fellowship, and was awarded the FENDI Vanguard Award. Adam has an established orchestral career, frequently performing as guest harpist with the New York Philharmonic, Metropolitan Opera, Pittsburgh Symphony, Dallas Symphony, Minnesota Orchestra, as well as the St. Louis Symphony, Wicked on Broadway, Fort Worth Symphony, and the Lakes Area Music Festival Orchestra.
Outside of the harp Adam has a love for cooking, craft cocktails, and daily walks with his dog Angel!
